Dec. 1, 04 Taz - caught in the act of digging in garbage
Taz - woke up on a November morning and was a little wobbly. A couple of days later he had no use of his back legs The vet said it was a slipped disk and if he didn't recover in a couple of weeks there was no hope of him getting the use of his legs back. After two months he was he same. His muscles in his legs atrophied and he has this skinny little bum. He had a "woe is me" look on his face and dull eyes. After he came off all the drugs the vets had him on - pregnazone and other steroids and diuretics he started being himself again - just had to drag his hind end around - quite amusing if it wasn't so sad (just a flesh wound mate) Then we got him this wheel chair from K-9 carts and he started running around from the day we strapped him into it. A terrier almost twice his size growled at him in the park. (big mistake) Taz turned on him, the other dog tried to run but Taz caught up to him with two legs and two wheels and told him who was boss. The Taz is back. Feb 2, '04 Taz has started walking again! -wobbly - We had no hope and two vets told us no way he would walk again and a chiropractor that we had manipulate him said in so many words that we should put him down. We figured if he could get around in the cart then he could enjoy life. Taz had different ideas, he never gave up. Maybe it helped that we prayed for him every day. Miracle dog.
